River Valley Baptist Church is an independent local assembly of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our church has been in the Naugatuck River Valley since 1987. It is our God-given mandate to preach the wonderful gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God unto ‘salvation’ - eternal life and so much more. Our desire is to see people call upon the Lord for the salvation of their souls; and then to see them taught all things that the Lord Jesus Christ commanded. We believe that by these life-changing events, people may enjoy the blessings of an eternal, abundant and fruitful spiritual life. We are a church family that cares for you, because we know that the LORD cares for you. In fact, God so loves you that He gave His only begotten Son to die for your sins so that you may believe in Him and not have to pay the eternal penalty of your sin, but that you may have and eternal, abundant, fruitful, everlasting life! That is good news!!!

We are not an entertainment driven, nor a high-frills church. We are simply an assembly of believers that want to please the Lord. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. He has not changed, nor has the truth of the Scriptures changed; therefore our services do not change with the times, but remain simple and conservative. We still sing the good ole’ hymns of the faith, and have a great time doing it. We still preach and teach from the King James Bible. We still keep The Bible as our central focal point, for the Holy Bible is our final authority for our faith and for our practice.

Please accept our cordial invitation to attend our services. We meet regularly for the purpose of prayer, praise, and for preaching. We believe that regular attendance with the assembly of the believers is absolutely essential for one’s spiritual growth. In these troubling times, our meetings are a wonderful place to be refreshed in our spirits to be enabled to handle the pressures of this life. We are convinced that real joy in this life, and real meaning of life, can only be realized by a proper standing with God the Father through a relationship with His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. This standing is possible by His amazing grace through our child-like faith in the finished work of the cross of Calvary. Once that relationship has begun, we have embarked on a life-long journey of discipleship. Our desire is to see people grow up to be like Jesus. This growth process will not only make this life meaningful, but will also prepare us for our eternal destiny with the Lord Jesus Christ.
